Presentation of the book “I Smile Forever”, an event in support of the association “For Maria, how can we help?”
Maria was a girl with a most gentle smile and a big heart. Born with a rare heart condition, she had bravely undergone seven heart operations at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa, managing to live her adolescence with serenity. At just twenty years old, however, her life was suddenly cut short due to a fulminant sepsis.
Despite her young age, Maria had already understood life's most authentic value: giving herself to others. In fact, as a volunteer, she dedicated time, attention and love to children with disabilities, offering them friendship, a listening ear and joy.
It is precisely from this example that the’The association “For Maria, how can we help?”, with the aim of transforming immense pain into concrete action of solidarity, inclusion and hope, in the spirit of his motto: “Love brings love”.
In addition to individual events and fundraising efforts, fundraising also occurs primarily through the book written by Maria, “I smile forever”, today re-published by DeNigris Editori and distributed nationally.
The presentation event unfolds as an authentic moment of sharing, giving space to young people with disabilities, through the appreciation of their abilities, with stories and music, just as Maria would have wanted.
From here, the story of his life and the association's journey takes shape, showing how it is possible to transform pain into love for others.
During the meeting, Maria's book will be presented, the proceeds from which continue to concretely support solidarity projects. The final part will be dedicated to a dialogue with the audience and a convivial and engaging moment, with music and collective participation.
Two hours of real life, in which the common thread is just one: the love that continues to generate more love.
Projects supported by the association
The association's main initiatives include concrete projects to support young people with disabilities and activities aimed at promoting their social and cultural inclusion, without forgetting support for families experiencing similar situations.
Through this initiative, the association contributes monthly to the activities of “I Ragazzi della Campo,” supporting inclusion-focused programmes. It also promotes a music therapy project at the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa, aimed at children hospitalised in cardiothoracic surgery, offering them a moment of relief and well-being.
Among the initiatives supported is “Volont Music,” a musical performance that showcases the talent and dedication of a singer-songwriter who has dedicated a song to a young man with a disability. In parallel, the association is the creator and organiser of the theatrical performance “Da quei Ragazzi,” a project that puts young people with disabilities at its core, making them the protagonists and spokespeople for a message of inclusion and love.
