It has different varieties, some with a very short needle, and it is a vigorous tree. It prefers soils that are not too clayey, infrequent watering, a sunny exposure, and light fertilisation.
The needle is strong and robust and it is one of the easiest pines to grow.
The tall and slender bearing is unusual for this species, which is more suited to representing strong and compact plants. In this case, the light and sparse vegetation makes this specimen very elegant.
