GINKGO BILOBA
Conifer with the appearance of a deciduous tree, native to Central Asia, particularly China. It is considered a ’living fossil“ due to its ancient origins dating back more than 200 million years. As a bonsai, it does not lend itself well to particular styling and is considered one of the most disease-resistant plants.
How can one not be fascinated by a plant dating back to ancient times? The ginkgo, when cultivated as a bonsai, is particularly suited to a “formal upright” style. It becomes incredibly beautiful between October and November when its leaves turn a bright yellow, making the entire plant appear golden.
