A coniferous tree of the cypress family, which includes many varieties, such as Itoigawa and Kishu, of Chinese and Japanese origin, the most suitable for bonsai cultivation due to their dense foliage. It likes direct sunlight and infrequent watering.
It adapts well to all climates and is the most used species to start working on bonsai, thanks to its ease of manipulation.

This specimen is characterised by its sinuous and elegant bearing. The red colour of the living parts and the white colour of the dry areas combine with the green of the foliage, creating a strong chromatic contrast typical of this species.
