JUNIPER
Juniperus Chinensis
A coniferous tree of the cypress family, which includes many varieties, such as Itoigawa and Kishu, of Chinese and Japanese origin, the most suitable for bonsai cultivation due to their dense foliage. It likes direct sunlight and infrequent watering.
It adapts well to all climates and is the most used species to start working on bonsai, thanks to its ease of manipulation.
This juniper arrived from Japan around 2009. Its appearance was very different from how it is now.
In 2012, during an event organised by Franchi Bonsai, it was worked for the first time by the Japanese master Minoru Akiyama.
In the years that followed, several branches were pruned and the remaining ones repositioned. Two repottings were necessary to cultivate it in its current pot.
