MAPLE, PALMATE ARAKAWA
Maple, Palmate ( Var. Arakawa )
Originating from Japan and Korea, it is divided into approximately two hundred species and is one of the most widely used plants in bonsai cultivation due to its delicate foliage, which takes on a beautiful colour in autumn. It loves frequent watering, especially during the summer period, and a semi-shaded position.
It is absolutely the queen of bonsai, loved above all for its elegance, delicacy, and the stunning colour of its leaves.
This specimen of the Arakawa variety differs from others due to its bark, which develops in a rough and dense manner, similar to that of an oak, creating a contrast with its fine and delicate leaves. This characteristic lends it a particular charm. Despite not having a particularly large trunk, it is capable of perfectly representing the elegance and harmony of an old tree.
