From the collaboration between the Giallo Pistoia Association and Naturart, the event is born “Reading and writing crime fiction”, an initiative that will take place on 10 and 11 October 2025 and will offer an in-depth look at genre literature, with a particular focus on detective fiction, both classic and contemporary. The event aims to explore the link between detective fiction and the Pistoia region, with a programme full of meetings, presentations, competitions and celebrations.
Friday 10 October 2025: Literature, Writers and Schools
Moderated by Maurizio Gori, the day of 10th October will be entirely dedicated to crime fiction, with a reflection on the origins of Pistoian crime fiction and the contributions of the great authors of the genre.

3:30 PM – Greetings and introduction by the Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Pistoia, Benedetta Menichelli.

3:45 PM – Intervention by Maria Stella Rasetti, Head of the Culture, Tourism and IT Service of the Municipality of Pistoia, who will present the portal Literary Map.

4:00 PM – Giuseppe Previti, president of the Giallo Pistoia Association, and Giovanni Capecchi They will talk about the origins of Giallo Pistoia.

4:15 PM – Tribute to Camilleri, with a memento from the writer.

4:30 PM – Giovanni Capecchi will tell Andrea Camilleri on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.

17:15 – Classic MysteriesIntervention by Jacopo Chiostri on historical authors of crime fiction.

6.00 PM – The Mystery at School: Projects and Competitions:

Presentation of school projects, including literary competitions “Investigators at school” and “Graphic Design Competitions Luca Boschi”.

Testimonials from teachers who have collaborated with Giallo Pistoia.

Awarding of certificates to students who are finalists in the anthology publication competition “Investigators at School 2025”.

Stefano Tofani He/She will talk with teachers and students about how to write for young people.

Saturday 11 October 2025: Territory, Authors and Competitions
The day of 11 October It will focus on the links between the Pistoia territory and crime fiction, with a focus on local history and the main authors of the genre.

3:30 PM – ConclusionIntroduction by Giuseppe Previti and Claudio Rosati, which will discuss the links between literature and territory.

4:00 PM – Local History and Crime Fiction: Marco Vozzolo will explore the local history of Pistoia and its connection to crime fiction.

4.45 PM – Celebration of Pistoian Writers: Stefano Fiori, Ambra Pellegrini and Enrico Tozzi they will discuss 20 years of publications related to Giallo Pistoia, with references to novels, short stories, and anthologies.

Delivery to Pistoian writers of a commemorative print from an original drawing by Riccardo Innocenti.

17:15 – The Curator's Work: Andrea Gamannossi will explain how an anthology is constructed.

6.00 PM – The Passion for Writing and the National CompetitionIntervention by Laura Vignali and presentation of the’11th edition of the Giallo in Provincia National Literary Competition, with an appeal for participation in the popular jury of readers.
